Patan Durbar Square is another World Heritage Site as declared by UNESCO. Hence it also holds a special historical as well as cultural importance in the context of Nepali art and literature.  It is located in Lalitpur city, very nearby Kathmandu. It also harbors various temples and palaces built during the reigns of kings of Malla dynasty.  
The most prominent of all temples of this area is the Krishna Mandir which attracts a lot of devotees on the day of Krishna-astami (the birthday of Lord Krishna). Taleju Bhawani Mandir holds equal importance as Krishna Mandir. Bhimsen temple, Vishwanath temple are also revered by devotees all over the country and frequently visited. There is also a museum which treasures historical archives and monuments.
